Resolve Family Mediation adheres to Resolution ( formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association) and the Law Society’s Code of Practice.
Mediation is a voluntary process, and provides an environment in which couples are given the opportunity to resolve their issues arising from relationship breakdown directly with each other with assistance from the family mediator. Most commonly these issues relation to making arrangements for children, finances including the family home and other assets, payment of debts, payment of child and spousal support, the rights of unmarried couples and pre nuptial and cohabitation agreements.
Mediation can assist couples to reach their own decisions which are right for them in a supportive environment. Couples are invited to round table meetings which last between one hour and an hour and a half where they are encouraged to enter into without prejudiced and confidential discussions to discuss available options open to them without fear that what is said within mediation can be used against them later on.
Mediation is generally quicker, cheaper and less intimidating than engaging in the court process. Couples have more control over the decision making process and are generally happier with the result than having a decision imposed upon them by the court.
Married or unmarried couples, grandparents, step parents, or those in a single sex relationship may use our services. Resolve Family Mediation does not discriminate on the grounds of race, sex, disability or ethnic background.
Resolve Family Mediation offers a private client mediation service.
